wide, the scanner tends to pull the receipt to the right. Software is easy to navigate after some trial & error. Device works fine for the most part. I put the receipt right next to the recommended scanning area, the arrow, press scan and as it is passing through the scanner, the receipt is scrunching up on the right side of the scanner. Issue I'm concerned about and I'm unsure if it's a defect or the nature of the beast. When scanning a run of the mill size receipt, about 3.5 in. This produces a scanned imaged slightly off center and sometimes unable to read the scanned data that is on the right side of the receipt. I have to guide the receipt by pulling or holding slightly to keep it straight.
This product works exceptionally well.the only thing I would add would be an on/off switch on the scanner. The categories are more extensive than I need, but then the product is designed for many. Definitely recommended for business people or anyone staying ahead of tax time. An excellent report and record keeping system.
I travel a lot and love that I can now do all of my expense reports on the road, saving time when I return home. This product is so light. I just keep it in my computer bag. Great quality, also good for scanning business cards.
The scanning quality is not perfect but it works and it is all you need for 90% of my documents. I have wanted to purchase Neat Works for a while but spending over $400 on the large scanner always held me back. NeatWorks is truly been a lifesaver for me because I have been able to store so much paperwork that normally would be cluttering my home, and yet everything is right there whenever I want it. This small scanner does the trick and the price is more reasonable. It is compact and for that reason doesn't take up very much room. I even scan documents which I still save on paper but because they are in the computer, I can refer to them much faster whenever I need to check on something. One other great feature of Neat Works is that you can input documents from another scanner AND store any receipts that you may have electronically. For example, when you receive a receipt via email, you simply select print and instead of printing, you have the option to click on 'add document to NeatWorks'.
The scanner picks up the name and amounts very well, filing is a bit of pain since it does not remember a file type (e.g. Music Expense) with a vendor name.It is compact, easy to use (with quick scan) and provides a good reporting system and my bowls and plastic containers are empty. NO MORE RECEIPTSBob Johnson[.].
